Las Ramblas!!!!!!!!

Today I walked down Las Ramblas, a famous street in Spain and it was amazing! It was bustling with people and there were assorted shops and restaurants and bakeries. There were so many things that if I told you about all of them it would take forever and I would be 92 when I finished! So I’ll only tell you about 3 things, a pet shop, statues, and ice cream.
There was an outside pet shop and they had baby hamsters and baby ducks and tiny turtles. It was so cool! I stuck my hand in the turtle cage and rubbed his front flipper. I tried to pet his head, but he shied away and literally put his head in his shell! It was cute to see.
There were also people who had dressed up so they looked like statues and they actually fooled some people! They would stand really still and then some people would walk by and the statues would move so suddenly that the other people would scream and then laugh. Then they would put some coins in his/her jar and take a picture or video of him/her being still and then scaring some other people.
There was also someone who was acting like the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland and it was hilarious! She never talked, only used emotions and movements to tell the growing crowd what she thought of the person that took a picture with her, drinking tea. For instance, if she didn’t approve, she would give them the evil eye after they left and when she was taking back the cup she would snatch it away from them and put her hat over her eyes. If she was sad because a little kid would not go up and get a picture taken, she would sniffle and make puppy eyes. Then the mom would put the baby down by the Mad Hatter and take a picture. Then, when they left, she would tip her hat to them and wave to the baby and the baby would wave back.

There were also some outside sweet shops and after I had eaten something healthy, we went and got ice cream. Personally I think Spain makes the best ice cream ever. It’s soft and cold and….well, it’s just good. I’M NOT DISLOYAL TO PORTLAND!
One interesting thing before I leave, the word “la rambla” comes from the Arabic word “ramla” and it means, “dry riverbed.” And just like a river flows, people flow down Las Ramblas! I hope you like Las Ramblas!!! I liked going down it. There’s a lot more to say, but like I mentioned before, I would be 92 if I tried to write about it all!
